Find your jigsaw

Three questions, instant picks — no email, no fluff.

Buying a jigsaw is mostly three decisions: how hard you'll work it, whether you want a cord or a battery, and what you'll spend. Answer those below and we filter our database to the models that fit, ranked by rating. A weekend DIYer cutting the odd shelf needs a very different saw from someone cutting hardwood every day — this matches the tool to the job rather than the marketing.

1. How will you use it?
2. Corded or cordless?
3. Budget

How the matching works

For heavy or professional use we require a stronger motor (around 650 W corded, or a brushless 18 V platform) and a higher overall rating; for occasional DIY we open the field to lighter, cheaper saws that are easier to handle. Budget bands map to real street prices, and corded vs cordless filters the list directly. The picks are ranked by our database score, with reviewed models linking to the full write-up. Treat it as a shortlist, not gospel — then read the review for feel, vibration and blade changes.
