What we cover

We track 189 jigsaw models across every major brand and publish 56 in-depth reviews, plus comparisons, best-of rankings and how-to guides. We don't sell tools and we aren't tied to any manufacturer.

How we rate jigsaws

Each model earns an overall score out of 5, built from the factors that actually matter in use:

• Cutting performance — motor power, stroke length and real cut depth in wood and steel.
• Control — variable speed, orbital settings, bevel accuracy and low vibration.
• Build & ergonomics — handle comfort, weight, blade changes and dust extraction.
• Value — performance for the typical street price.

Scores are normalised so a 4.5 means the same thing on a budget model as on a pro one, relative to its class.

How to read a review

Every review opens with the score and key specs, then covers strengths, weaknesses and who the tool is right for. Specifications are sourced from manufacturer data and verified against hands-on use where possible; always confirm current specs with the maker before buying.
