What is a jigsaw? It is nothing more than an electrical appliance with the thinnest sawing blade, whether simple straight or decorative patterned. Sawing with an electric jigsaw opens up new opportunities for you to realize creative ideas, skillfully carving a variety of patterns without much difficulty.
Construction technology is rapidly evolving, and with it, so are tools. The advantage of power tools is that they increase the productivity of construction work, without additional effort, it makes the task of the home craftsman or professional builder easier.
Sawing with an electric jigsaw
Wood sawing with the jigsaw requires the pendulum motion mode of the blade. Basically, this mode is used to create a straight cut. The peculiarity is that during operation the saw blade cuts the material that is in front.
With an electric jigsaw with the right saw blades you can make straight and patterned cuts on different types of wood, plastic, ceramic tiles, drywall, non-ferrous metals, glass, bricks, steel and other materials.
It is easy to change the right saw blade. With the electric jigsaw you can cut a variety of holes in the parts and cut materials at different angles. There are undoubtedly many advantages to working with the jigsaw, because even cuts from the finest materials are obtained without any defects.
Instructions for sawing with an electric jigsaw:
- Make sure that the saws you will be using are sharp. Otherwise the jigsaw motor will be overloaded.
- Secure the workpiece you are going to saw. A good grip will help you to do everything neatly and accurately. Try to clamp the workpiece face down.
- Start at the bottom of the piece.
- Try to saw the material close to the marking line, this will help make the cut much more accurately.
- Do not force the jigsaw in the place of sawing, if the blade is sharp the work will move freely without much effort.
- If you need to cut at an angle, fix the base plate at the right angle (150, 300, 450). To avoid spoiling the material, use an unnecessary piece of board first.
- To saw rounded shapes with an electric jigsaw inside the parts, drill it with a drill to begin with. Place the blade in the hole and, holding the part to be cut, turn the tool on.
Of course, you must not forget to observe the safety rules when you work with the jigsaw. Use eye protection (special glasses) and refrain from direct contact with the cutting blade of the jigsaw.
Read the instruction manual carefully. Remember to lubricate and clean the tool after each use to ensure a long life of the jigsaw.
